Blicky - thin ice my friend, thin ice.If I'm not mistaken (rarely I am) you yourself owned the greatness that is 'Yamaha'!An R6 no less, but as I recall you saying,it frieghtened, neh, petrified you way way waaay too much & only on half throttle that you decided the only way you would ever properly sleep again & some way cure yourself of the nervous twitch you'd developed since the purchase of the great Yam would be to buy something that much more slower, more sedate, easier to ride, not as scarey..........hence the cruiser Busa:P

Re: Hi All..................
ok but i reckon if you put Leon Camier on a gixxer thou with similar settings as his yam, he would still stomp it at BSB.
Or even a Fireblade
Or ZX10 (??????)

He didn't manage to do it on a Ducati 1098 that at the time was the only factory bike running in BSB............

Re: Hi All..................
The R6 was like sitting on a washing machine at full spin, and that was only at 30mph around town! don't get me wrong I did love it but when you wanted to give it some beans everyone (including plod) could hear you screaming towards them from miles away! Busa's pass them so quickly they don't even bother
Mine is going back on the rollers at big cc racing soon for stage 2 of the works (power commander tweaks) but I keep getting tempted by those turbo kits! the guy keeps telling me 3k and you can have one fitted!! (270bhp @6psi)

Don't get me wrong the yam is pretty good but all i was tryin to say was that its not all about the bike!
Airwaves have just hit the jackpot with the right rider on the right bike. No malice intended on any part!!!

Had a ride on a new R1 this year, nice bike all round but as with most sports bikes they seem to be getting smaller and smaller and I felt quite squashed up tbh (would be after a long ride out)
Also as I have got the wife involved I need a decent pillion seat and all the 1ltr sports bikes have a beer mat on the rear!
The 'busa cruiser' seems to fit all my needs at the mo, comfortable one or 2 up, quick as you like in a straight line, no one try's to race you off the lights (Including Ferrari's ) cheap and reliable.....need I go on...
Ohh and the best thing about a busa is if you let one of motorcycle academy's instructors out on it they come back with a grin from ear to ear and buy one for themselves a few months later
